Privacy Policy

In accordance with European Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data (GDPR) and with Belgian legislation on this matter, notably the law of 30 July 2018 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, we provide you with the following information.

Newsletters

When subscribing to the Ixelles Museum newsletter, only your email address, your preferred communication language, and the selected segment(s) (news; family activities and/or teachers) are collected.

This data is collected in order to send you newsletters by email.

It is processed on behalf of the Municipality of Ixelles by Brevo, acting as a data processor in accordance with a contract governing the processing of personal data.

The processing is based on your consent (Article 6, §1, a GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link. Your data will be retained until you request otherwise or unsubscribe.

Your data will not be transferred to third parties and will not be used for commercial purposes by third parties.

Friends of the Ixelles Museum – membership form

When you apply to join the Friends of the Ixelles Museum, your data is collected and stored in the website’s content management system (CMS). This system is accessible only to the staff of the Ixelles Museum and to the administrator responsible for managing the non-profit association Friends of the Ixelles Museum.

The following data is collected:

  • first and last name
  • membership category
  • communication language
  • contact details (email address and mobile phone number)
  • postal address (street, number, city, postal code and country)
  • comments (optional)

This data is collected to ensure the proper administrative management of memberships and to enable communication with members of the Friends of the Ixelles Museum. Your data is not shared with third parties and is used solely for internal purposes.

By joining the Friends of the Ixelles Museum, you consent to the use of your data in accordance with this privacy policy and to receiving the Friends of the Ixelles Museum newsletter by ticking the relevant boxes.

If you tick the box “I would like to subscribe to the museum newsletter”, you consent to receiving the “news” segment of the Ixelles Museum newsletter.

Your data will be kept for the duration of your membership. Data of former members will be deleted at the end of the membership, unless its retention is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or for the management of a dispute. In that case, it will be retained for the applicable limitation period.
