Fonds Houtman

In collaboration with XL’Art, nine primary school classes became, for a few months, the designers of the future Ixelles Museum. For several days, the students explored the museum and its universe before imagining the future educational tools they would like to use upon reopening. Result? Audio capsules, board games based on the collection, and objects to observe artworks in a new way.

Thanks to the support of the Houtman Fund, the project could develop over two years, involving more than a hundred children and their families.

Project objectives:

• Make children active participants in the Ixelles Museum;
• Develop children’s transversal skills (critical thinking, personal expression, listening, etc.);
• Promote access to culture and discovery of the museum world.
