Fonds Jean Praet

The Jean Praet Fund supports the Ixelles Museum in developing initiatives aimed at young audiences. Among these is Musée en pleine herbe, a project in which the museum sets up in Ixelles’ parks during the summer holidays. Every afternoon, for 7 weeks, board games created around the Ixelles Museum collection are offered to children, families, and day tourists.

Thanks to the support of the Jean Praet Fund, the project was able to expand its offerings to address both very young children and older audiences. Activities were also organized in playgrounds during school holidays, and a holiday booklet for children aged 8 to 12 was developed to extend the artistic discovery in a playful way.

Project objectives:

• Develop a creative and artistic offer for children and families during the summer holidays;
• Make art and the municipal museum’s collection more accessible;
• Encourage moments of meeting and exchange between audiences.
